The Honeymoon Is Over

I am officially a married women!

The wedding was everything that I hoped it would be and more.
And the honeymoon was so amazing that they nearly had to drag me off the boat.

I must say though, I am happy to be back to my old life.
You see, I went slightly crazy 2 weeks before the wedding.

Dinner went uncooked
Beds went unmade (I never do that anyways)
Outfit repeating was a regular thing
And our vegan diet was not so vegan

Jaxsen's teacher even pulled me aside to ask me if something was wrong because my potty trained child was wearing Pull Ups all week. I said, "gurrrl laundry is so a thing of the past!"

Anyways, I am back to my normal self, which kinda sucks because now I have no excuse to not do the dishes, laundry, or get my way because "I'm the bride."

But it's all good! I'm excited to start blogging again!

Until next time,

Welcoming The Warmth

It was 84 degrees today and the sun was shining ever-so bright! I'm a warm weather kinda girl. Like I prefer it to be 105 degrees than 55 degrees. Warm weather means, curly hair, BBQs, painting in the park, flip flops and swimming. I could seriously go on forever.

Today we welcomed the warmth with a midday walk.

Convo during the walk.
Me: Kojo (our dog) is so crazy!
Jaxs: He's not crazy. He happy!

I taught Jaxsi how to blow a dandelion.

Drool.

I love that girl.

Midday walk = highlight of my day.

Now I have to cook dinner and I consider that the "lowlight" of my day.

Garden Crafts & Rambling

I have not been crafty in a lonnnng time. Perhaps it's because my craft room looked like this.

You can go ahead and judge me (head down in shame). I know it's really bad. The good news is, the rest of my house doesn't look like that and now my craft room looks like this.

SO.MUCH.BETTER.
"I am NEVER gonna let it get that bad again." Said me, every time I clean it.

Now that it's clean, I actually want to make stuff again. It's like a breath of fresh. I am decorating our back patio this year. It's our first time planting a garden and I want it to look happy yet peaceful. I am going to upcycle as much of the decor as I possibly can. Upcycling is when you turn something old and ugly, into something newer-looking and beautiful.  Upcycling is bittersweet in our household.

DJ thinks of it as more junk in our house. I think of it as an investment into the environment.

DJ thinks of it as more junk in our house. I think of it as an opportunity to make something beautiful again.

DJ thinks of it as more junk in our house. I think of it as a great way to spend time together and declutter the house, like we did last weekend.

Crazy man.

I went to the thrift store and found some picture frames, a small chair, and a mini ironing board. All for $11.00. Not bad.

The people that lived in our house before us, left these boots and they have been sitting in our garage since we moved in. I am so glad I didn't trash them.

Cute chair. Just needs some love.

And the mini ironing board. I painted it and Mod Podged some letters on it. Mod Podge is my all time favorite craft supply, by the way. The gloss and smell get me every time.

Here is everything after a little TLC.

I am in love with it all! I am going to make an herb box for my next project.

Spring cannot come soon enough! I have a lot more projects to finish for the patio. I will keep you posted.

Are going to plant a garden this year?

Valentine's Day Party & An Accidental Tutorial

Today was Jaxsen's Valentine's Day party! I am POSITIVE that I enjoy these shindigs farrr more than she does. The kid inside of me wants to decorate a cookie, listen to a story, and eat my heart shaped PB&J afterwards. Some (DJ) would say I am living vicariously through my child. I can't argue. I would love to be a kid again. Arts and crafts, naps, snow days and you can throw a temper tantrum in public without getting thrown into a mental hospital!?!?! Heck yes, sign me up! I'll be a kid again!

"Cheeesseee."

Cookie decorating.

This is when I got really happy! I realized that after she eats that cookie, she is going to be super hyper BUT she has 3 more hours at school and her teachers get to deal with all the "fun!" Side note: She was too cracked out at school to take a nap so she is taking one right now.
Double whammy!

Girl talk.

Lots of goodies.

I found this Valentine tutorial on Pinterest and it turned out fabulous! The hardest part was getting a good picture. I bribed her with cookies and she still wouldn't cooperate.

Me: "Hold up your arm, look at the camera, and laugh."
Jaxs: (Arm halfway up, looking at her dad and almost crying).

We gave up.

Then daddy saved the day! He got her to take the picture, the next day, on the second try!
I uploaded the picture to Picnik, added some stickers, text, and saved it.

(Pals is an acronym they use at her school and yes, I did fix that punctuation error).

I printed them on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper. Then I cut a slit at the top and bottom of her fist. Inserted the lollipop and done-ski!
This really wasn't meant to be a tutorial. Oh well, it was too easy not to share!

Instafriday

This has been a blah kinda week. I had a sudden epiphany, and I decided that I wanted to wake up earlier so I can get more done. Needless to say, I have been a walking zombie that has only woken up early 3 times this week. Better than nothing but I don't think waking up at 6:30 am to mop our tile floor is very worth it. Anyways, I am hoping that next week is better.

Jaxsen had a Superbowl party at her school this week and since I'm a cheapskate, I made her a shirt instead of buying one she would only wear once. I had some iron on paper for the logo and I slapped some bows on it. Perfectly cute and cheap. I have made her a Superbowl shirt every year since she was born. One day, she will refuse to wear it and I will probably cry.
STOP GROWING, KID!

I made laundry soap this week! It turned out great. It's supposed to last for 6 months because you only need a tablespoon per load. I just don't think 1 tablespoon is enough though so I always add some extra. It smells great and the ingredients were under $20. I will get the recipe on here soon!

Smile, it's breakfast! Kale Chips and avocado. Yum!

Stir Fry for lunch. What's a lunch without sriracha, chili paste and sweet chili sauce? Well my friend, it's just not spicy enough for me. I love all things S-P-I-C-Y!

Late night smoothie! I broke two blenders in a months time so I went and got a new one last night. I got impatient with our last blender and stuck a knife to far into it. The blade came off and bye-bye blender.

I took my wedding dress in for alterations yesterday! 85 days until the wedding. Eeekkk!

The wind knocked my favorite plant out of the window and it broke. It's fixed now though! My mom gave me the pot and it says, "God uses the cracked pots." So very true.
